Winning artiste of the year doesn’t mean you are the best – Kuami Eugene (Video)

Award-winning highlife musician Kuami Eugene has opined that winning artiste of the year or any ultimate awards does not determine or prove that one is the overall best.

Speaking in a one-on-one interview with Ohemaa Woyeje Monitored By Blogger Attractive Mustapha on his take on awards schemes and Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, Kuami Eugene said it is good his brother Kidi won artiste of the year in the just ended VGMA22.

He also added that at the end of the day he, Kuami Eugene is not the only one who should or deserves to win artiste of the year so if other people win it is not a problem.

“For me to be nominated in artiste of the year for three consecutive years tells a lot that I am doing well and doing something good so I must be grateful for that”.

He concluded that he has a lot of awards but that does not mean he is better than those who do not have.

“Some underground artists are even doing better than mainstream artists, some musicians also have hit songs but still don’t win any awards, so it doesn’t determine who is the best, It’s a few people on a board that determine for every awards scheme“.
