THE ‘GHANA MUST GO’ FOR GOLD JOURNEY

I woke up on a calm Friday morning in Cape Coast and was pleasantly surprised to find out that Ghana’s Black Princesses had emerged as the champions of the All-African Games in Accra 2023.

Indeed, we came, we saw, we conquered, Yes! We came for GOLD. This incredible achievement was made possible by the unwavering support of all of you – the calls, criticisms, bashing, and encouragement from every quarter, the street coaching skills exhibited and all.

I remember how in the first half of the game, people kept calling and reminding me what we said on the radio about how we couldn’t afford a Silver for Ghana. A big thank you to everyone who made this possible, from our President, HE Kurt Okraku, to the media, and to all our fans who invested so much emotion into us.

We are thrilled that we didn’t disappoint you. To the owners of the Women’s Premier League clubs, I know what this means to us and how great it will be going forward. We achieved this because we all worked hard towards this goal. Cape Coast is now the new hub for women’s football.
