Singer Piesie Super praises Kofi Kinaata, says he gets goosebumps when he listens to his songs

Renowned Ghanaian singer Piesie Super lauds Kofi Kinaata’s musical prowess, expressing goosebumps-inducing admiration for his captivating songs.

Piesie Super, a Ghanaian songwriter and performer whose real name is Edmund Kofi Johnson, made references to rappers who are transitioning into singing by stating that, despite their best efforts, they will never be able to sing like a natural singer like him.

The natural singer admitted to DjQwequ on The Weekend Groove Show on Ahomka 99.5 FM in Elmina, Cape Coast, that although rappers have a lot of rhymes and excellent timing, they can never sound like vocalists. Furthermore, singers each have a distinct and particular method of performing.

“We singers have a special and unique style of doing our thing. As a rapper, you can’t be like a singer. The only advantages a rapper has are their good timing and more lyrics. Apart from that, they can’t be like us as natural singers.
Giving an example, Piesie picked Kofi Kinaata because he knows that Kofi has a musical background and is amazed by his songwriting abilities despite the fact that his voice doesn’t sound like a singer.

“An example is Kofi Kinaata. Even though he doesn’t sound like a natural singer, I get goosebumps anytime I listen to his songs, and this tells you he is musically inclined.

I keep saying to myself, ‘He doesn’t have a voice like mine but sings like me. What happens if he gets my voice?’”

He ended by adding that those rappers are now benefiting, and singing is now everywhere.
