Osinachi Nwachukwu: Gospel singer’s husband charged with homicide

The husband of the late Nigerian Gospel artist, Osinachi Nwachukwu has amongst other things been charged with homicide by the Federal Government of Nigeria.

Peter Nwachukwu according to reports on some Nigerian news portals was charged with homicide according to section 221 of the penal code.

His offense according to the law is punishable by death.

The case was filed against the accused widower by the Head of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence in the Department of Public Prosecutions of the Federation of the Ministry of Justice, Madam Yewande Gbola – Awopetu in May 20, 2022.

The deceased singer died on April 8, 2022, after her husband allegedly stamped her chest.

Reports from neighbors, children, and close relations of the Nwachukwu family indicated that the deceased was constantly subjected to various counts of abuse.

Franklin Edwards, a renowned Nigerian Gospel singer later debunked claims of the deceased dying of throat cancer as claimed in initial reports.

It was later revealed that the deceased was hospitalized for five days until she finally died.
