Ghanaian dancers also need recognition – WealthyKing

Gideon Pappoe, a Ghanaian dancer known by his stage name WealthyKing, recently addressed the misconception surrounding dancers and education. He emphasized that it’s incorrect to assume that dancers lack education.
Pappoe highlighted the unfortunate reality that many talented young dancers have been compelled to abandon their passion due to the stigma associated with dancing.
He urged individuals holding negative perceptions about dancers to reconsider their views, noting that Ghana’s dance industry is experiencing significant growth and gaining global recognition.

According to WealthyKing, dancing complements various aspects of the creative industry. However, he lamented the prevailing Ghanaian misconception that dancers are academically inferior individuals. He emphasized the need to challenge this mindset, stating that it’s regrettable how little importance is often placed on the art of dance.

As a dancer who has collaborated with several musicians such as D2, Joey B, D-Flex, and Agana, WealthyKing revealed that he has friends within influential circles, including the corporate world, who are also dancers.
