Disappointment as Guinness World Records Rejects Afua Asantewaa’s Attempt

Afua Asantewaa’s ambitious quest for the longest individual singing marathon, aiming to break the Guinness World Record, fell short despite her impressive 126 hours and 52 minutes of continuous singing.

Guinness World Records responded to a tweet from Obaa Afya Hipsy inquiring about Afua Asantewaa’s attempt to break the record for the longest individual singing marathon.

In their Twitter reply, captured by Journalist and Blogger Attractive Mustapha , Guinness World Records revealed that unfortunately, Afua’s attempt was not successful. Despite this setback, they expressed hope for her future attempts, acknowledging the inspiration she provided to her fans.

The evidence check had already begun before Afua requested priority service, leading to a refund of her payment earlier in the month. The organization wished Afua the best of luck in any future record endeavors.

Afua Asantewaa made history on December 29, 2023, concluding her Guinness World Record attempt with an impressive 126 hours and 52 minutes of continuous singing.

This feat surpassed the previous record of 105 hours set by Indian singer Sunil Waghmare in 2012. Subsequently, the event organizer submitted evidence of Asantewaa’s singing marathon to Guinness World Records on January 6, 2024.

Despite the unsuccessful attempt, Asantewaa’s determination and talent have left an indelible mark on the record-breaking community.
