Black Men do not deserve to be given power – Efia Odo

Former US-based Ghanaian nurse, now an actress, Andrea Owusu, better known as efia Odo, believes Ghana gained independence prematurely.

According to her, Ghana as a nation was never prepared for independence.

In a tweet on Friday, June 17, 2022, sighted by this portal, Afia Odo added that black men do not deserve to be given power because they will just abuse it.

“We gained our independence too early! Never give a black man power, he’ll just misuse it,” her post reads.

Meanwhile, her post has attracted many reactions, with some in favor of her and others, believing that her post doesn’t make a bit of sense at all.

Those against her view argue that her assertions are a result of her ignorance of the colonial rule and achievements of the Nkrumah government.

Others also agree with her point, stating that all the African countries that gained independence early are still struggling.

“I disagree with you Efia. B4 independence how many schools, hospitals were built by our Colonial masters. Black is capable of managing his own affairs. If the then opposition had supported Nkrumah to achieve whatever he had for Gh n not help overthrow his govt, Gh would v been.

“This is the same thing I have been saying for a long time. Look at all the African countries which gained independence in the 50s and 60s. None of them have been able to give economic freedom to their citizen till today. We were not ready at that time,” some netizens reacted.
