Renowned Ghanaian photographer Robert Augustus Abban, popularly known as “Rob Photography,” has been honored at the Ghana Entertainment Awards USA 2026 for his contribution and support to the growth of Ghana’s entertainment industry.
The recognition was presented to Abban with a citation bearing the inscription:
“Special recognition for your immense support to the growth of the Ghana Entertainment Awards USA.”
The honor adds to the growing recognition of Rob Photography’s work across Ghana’s entertainment, events and creative industries.
Born on March 29, 1989, in Saltpond in Ghana’s Central Region, Robert Augustus Abban, whose traditional name is Nana Kow Dadzie, developed an interest in photography and eventually pursued professional training at Zepto Professional Training Institute in Accra, where he studied photography.
He later established Rob Multimedia, an Accra-based professional photography outfit providing services across events, weddings and engagements, tourism, blogging and journalism.
Rob Photography’s career has seen him work behind the lens at several major entertainment events and platforms. His portfolio includes work as an official photographer for events such as the Ghana Music Awards UK, Ghana FIFA Awards 2018, Rapperholic and Bhimnation Concert 2018, Kaya Tour, 3Music Awards and AFRIMA Awards.
His career also extends beyond photography into media and entertainment promotion. Following an internship at Solid Multimedia, Abban took on the role of acting head of media before joining E-Jam Records in 2011 as head of media promotion. During his time with the label, he worked on promotional activities involving artistes including Sarkodie, D-Cryme, Chemphe and Eno Barony.
Another significant milestone in his career came through his work with Dr. Osei Kwame Despite, CEO of the Despite Group of Companies, serving as an official photographer for his birthday donations. The opportunity helped further establish Rob Photography within Ghana’s corporate and entertainment circles.
Over the years, his camera has taken him into the orbit of numerous prominent entertainment brands, artistes and events, including Ghana Music Awards Ghana and UK, S-Concert, Ashaiman to the World, Empire Entertainment, Bhimnation and Sarknation, among others.
Rob Photography has also received recognition through previous award nominations. He was nominated for Best Event Photographer at the Ghana Event Awards in 2018 and for Most Influential Media Personality at the MiPROMO Awards in 2018.
For Abban, photography represents more than simply capturing images. His professional journey has been driven by a desire to continually improve his craft, create value and use his work to showcase Ghana to audiences beyond the country.
The Ghana Entertainment Awards USA 2026 special recognition therefore marks another milestone in a career that has combined photography, media promotion and entertainment to document some of Ghana’s notable cultural and entertainment moments.
