Global social enterprise IGNITE has officially commenced operations in Ghana, using the country as a strategic entry point into the wider Sub-Saharan African market.
The company made its Ghanaian debut on Friday, August 7, 2026, with a launch event that also saw the appointment of renowned media entrepreneur Nathan Kwabena Anokye Adisi, popularly known as Bola Ray, to its Global Advisory Board.
The appointment is expected to strengthen IGNITE’s expansion strategy across Africa, particularly as the company seeks to create new opportunities for young people and micro-entrepreneurs through digital commerce, skills development and technology.
Bola Ray brings more than 20 years of experience spanning broadcasting, entertainment, business development and brand management to the advisory role. He is the Chief Executive Officer of EIB Network Group and Empire Entertainment and has been a prominent figure in Ghana’s media and entertainment landscape.
Speaking at the launch, Bola Ray highlighted the enormous potential presented by Africa’s youthful population and growing community of small-scale entrepreneurs.
He noted that while many young people possess talent and innovative ideas, they often lack access to the right tools, partnerships and platforms needed to transform those ideas into sustainable sources of income.
He expressed confidence that IGNITE’s approach could help bridge that gap by combining social e-commerce with technology-driven learning.
Bola Ray said he was pleased to join the company’s Global Advisory Board and expressed his commitment to supporting initiatives that would make business and learning opportunities more accessible to young Africans.
IGNITE combines e-commerce with digital skills
