The Black Star Experience 2027’ campaign to expose Highlife on a broad scale to music lovers around the globe was successfully launched on August 2, 2026 at the Seasea Club in Barcelona, Spain.
Ghana’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain, H.E. Kurlsoume Sinare Baffoe and Executive Secretary of the Creative Arts Agency, Gideon Aryeequaye , were on hand to lead the launch programme which drew a sizable crowd.
The H2TW campaign will embrace workshops, masterclasses and concerts in selected cities across Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas, as part of activities marking Ghana’s 70th Independence Anniversary Celebration.
Performers at the Barcelona launch included Bessa Simons, Jupitar, Obrafour, Stonebwoy and the Lucky Star Band, with opening sets by DJ Logs, DJ Demo, DJ King Solo, and Nigerian guest DJ Enny.
Gideon Aryeequaye said a lot of careful planning had gone into the H2TW campaign and was hopeful it would yield positive outcomes for Ghana. He stated that promoting and preserving Highlife for future generations was an important agenda that must be seriously pursued.
