Lady Dentaa Amoateng MBE Receives Multiple State and Federal Honors at Ghana Flag Raising Ceremony

International entrepreneur, diaspora advocate, and President & CEO of GUBA Enterprise, Lady Dentaa Amoateng MBE, was presented with multiple prestigious citations and recognitions from state, city, and federal leaders during the 2026 Ghana Flag Raising Ceremony held at Providence City Hall.

The ceremony brought together government officials from Rhode Island and Ghana, members of the diplomatic corps, community leaders, and the Ghanaian and African diaspora to celebrate Ghana’s heritage, culture, and the enduring relationship between Ghana and the United States.

The citations recognized Lady Dentaa’s outstanding international leadership, dedication to strengthening the Ghanaian diaspora, and her efforts in building meaningful partnerships between Ghana, Rhode Island, the United Kingdom, and communities across the globe.

Governor McKee’s citation highlighted Lady Dentaa’s “outstanding international leadership and unwavering advocacy for the Ghanaian diaspora,” recognizing her role in fostering cultural pride, economic collaboration, and global unity.

Congressman Gabe Amo commended her commitment to community engagement, cultural exchange, and international partnership, noting that her leadership has created meaningful opportunities that bring people together and celebrate Ghanaian heritage on a global stage.

Mayor Brett Smiley recognized Lady Dentaa’s exceptional work in strengthening partnerships between Ghana and the State of Rhode Island, while Lieutenant Governor Sabina Matos and Treasurer James Diossa acknowledged her contributions to community building and international collaboration.

The Ghana Flag Raising Ceremony also welcomed distinguished guests from Ghana, including His Excellency Ambassador Victor Emmanuel Smith, Ghana’s Ambassador to the United States, President of Rhode Island Ghanaian Association Mr Larbi and Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, President of the Ghana Football Association.

For more than two decades, Lady Dentaa has been a leading advocate for strengthening relationships between Africa and its global diaspora. Through GUBA Enterprise, she has spearheaded trade missions, investment forums, cultural initiatives, and international partnerships that continue to create lasting economic and social impact.
