Organisers of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards have announced a sudden change in venue for the 27th edition of the prestigious ceremony, set to take place this Saturday, May 9, 2026.

The event, which was initially scheduled to be held at the Palms Convention Centre at La Palm Beach Hotel, will now take place at the Grand Arena within the Accra International Conference Centre.
Although organisers have not provided an official explanation for the late switch, the move effectively returns the awards to a venue long associated with some of Ghana’s biggest entertainment spectacles. The Grand Arena is widely regarded for its ability to host large crowds and deliver high-quality production, making it a familiar and reliable choice for events of this scale.
Over the years, the venue has played host to several memorable TGMA nights, earning a reputation as the traditional home of the awards. Its return this year is expected to enhance the overall experience for both attendees and viewers.
The 2026 edition of the awards is shaping up to be one of the most exciting yet, with a lineup that promises electrifying performances, major award presentations, and appearances from top figures in Ghana’s music industry.
With just days to go, anticipation continues to build among fans and industry players, many of whom now look forward to celebrating the night at a venue that has become synonymous with the glamour and energy of the TGMA.
