Ghanaian singer Mr Drew has hit back at music duo DopeNation following claims that they played a role in the success of one of his hit songs but were never acknowledged.
In a recent interview, DopeNation alleged that they contributed to the writing of a track that later became a major hit for Mr Drew—yet their input went uncredited. The duo expressed disappointment over what they consider a lack of recognition for their work.
But the claims have triggered a sharp reaction from Mr Drew, who didn’t mince words in his response. Describing the remarks as “unnecessary and disrespectful,” he questioned the duo’s motive for bringing up his name during their media rounds.
“They could’ve done their interview without dragging my name into it,” he said. “This is just lame behavior—like guys throwing tantrums. I won’t sit by while anyone tries to discredit me or damage my brand.”
Taking to social media platform X, Mr Drew further addressed the issue directly, tagging the duo:
“Yo @GhDopeNation I love what y’all do but don’t disrespect me or my brand… next time you go interview wey you mention my name you go hear am… bunch of lame guys throwing tantrums.”
