US Embassy in Accra to roll out a new pre screening process

The US Embassy in Ghana has announced the introduction of a new pre-screening process aimed at enhancing the efficiency of immigrant visa processing.

Starting from September 2024, all immigrant visa applicants will be required to attend a pre-screening appointment 3-4 weeks before their scheduled visa interview, the Embassy confirmed.

In a post shared on its official X account, the Embassy explained, “Along with their visa interview notification, applicants will receive a separate pre-screening email outlining the date of the appointment and the required documents. During the pre-screening, a review of the documents will take place, and applicants will be informed if any documents are missing.”

The Embassy also stated that, applicants will be advised to obtain any missing documents ahead of their visa interviews to ensure full preparedness.

At the visa interview, consular officers will verify whether applicants attended the pre-screening and have all necessary documents.

“Any applicant who fails to attend the pre-screening or does not have all required documents ready will need to reschedule their visa interview,” the Embassy emphasized.
