THE KINGDOM MINDED MAN -Pastor Asante

KEY TEXT:Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.
Colossians 3:1 NIV

In a movie I watched sometime back,a man, locked in an unplugged walk-in freezer, imagined himself freezing to death and died as a result. Convinced he would die, the man began writing letters. In the final passage, he describes how he cannot write anymore because his fingers are beginning to freeze.

The people who found his body and letters discovered that the freezer’s temperature never dropped below 50 degrees. The man pretty much psyched himself to death.

A person’s mind is a powerful thing. King Solomon, arguably the wisest man to ever live, once wrote, “As a man thinks, so is he” (Proverbs 23:7).
our minds are set on Jesus, we begin to act like Jesus, talk like Jesus, and love like Jesus. Like the man in the freezer, where we put our focus will shape our perspective and determine our actions.

Our experience of Jesus’ kingdom is greatly affected by the priority His kingdom takes in our day. One of the best ways to know what’s primary in our lives is to consider what we are willing to suffer for. What do we care so deeply about that we are willing to fight for it, sacrifice for it, and be ridiculed for it?
A man whose mind is set on Christ doesn’t detach any aspect of his life from his faith. For example, some say” when it comes to my business or money,I don’t bring Christianity there”.That is not an example of a kingdom minded person.
A kingdom minded person puts Christ and the kingdom in the centre of every aspect of their life.A kingdom minded person lives today’s life in preparation for eternity.Such a man will never sacrifice eternity for today’s pleasure and happiness.Every step such a man makes whether ,they eat, sleep, work etc must seek to advance the kingdom and not cause men to loose faith in God-
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
Matthew 6:33 NIV

A kingdom minded person knows that everything the thing they acquire today whether through fair or foul means ends at the grave so they don’t step on people to acquire physical things but rather they seek for treasures in heaven.
Beloved, the more we set our minds on God,the more our lives are transformed and the more we become like Christ and guess what???He gives us perfect peace-“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you”
Isaiah 26:3 NIV

Prayer:Help me stay focused on you even in the midst of the many distractions around.

I love you all and may God bless you.
