Nollywood Actor Mr. Ibu’s Leg Amputated After Seven Surgeries

After undergoing seven different surgeries, Nollywood actor John Okafor, widely known as Mr. Ibu, had one of his legs amputated to ensure his survival and aid in his recovery process. This information was confirmed by the actor’s daughter, Chelsea Okafor, through a post on his social media handles on Monday.

In the Instagram post, Mr. Ibu’s daughter stated that her father had successfully undergone seven surgeries, but one of his legs had to be amputated to ensure his survival.

Here is the content of the social media post:

“We want to express our deep gratitude to all those who have been there for our dad. Saying ‘thank you’ hardly does justice, and only the grace of the Almighty can adequately appreciate the help you’ve provided.

As of 1 pm today, Daddy has successfully undergone seven surgeries. However, in order to ensure his survival and improve his chances of recovery, one of his legs had to be amputated. This has been a challenging development for our family, but we’ve had to accept it as Daddy’s new reality in order to keep him alive.

We continue to appeal for support from compassionate Nigerians, as this stage in Daddy’s journey remains extremely delicate, and he needs all the assistance he can receive.

Thank you, everyone. The Okafor family is truly grateful, and we value your support immensely. In due time, Daddy will personally acknowledge all those who supported him during this period, as soon as he’s stable,” the message concludes.
