The highly anticipated 2024 edition of NEGFEST (New England Ghana Festival) is set to dazzle audiences in Worcester, Massachusetts, and the excitement just reached new heights! Choirmaster, also known as Praye Honeho, has been revealed as the surprise act for tonight’s show, promising an unforgettable performance for fans.

With NEGFEST already boasting a star-studded lineup featuring Ghanaian music sensations like the “Kwaku Ananse” hitmaker Amerado, Highlife maestro Ofori Amponsah, and the versatile singer Sista Afia, the addition of Choirmaster is the cherry on top.

The festival, which celebrates Ghanaian heritage and culture under the theme “Sankofa: Embracing Our Heritage, Connecting Our Past,” is expected to draw thousands of attendees from across the New England region.

The three-day event, running from Friday, September 6 to Sunday, September 8, 2024, is packed with cultural exhibitions, traditional performances, and a concert that will light up Worcester on Saturday night. Choirmaster’s inclusion in the concert was announced last minute, creating even more buzz around the festival.

NEGFEST 2024 is organized by the Ghana Heritage Foundation, in partnership with the Honorary Ghana Consulate in Massachusetts, the US-Ghana Embassy, Worcester State University, the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MoTAC), and the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA). The festival aims to highlight the rich cultural traditions of Ghana while fostering new opportunities for Ghanaians and Africans in the diaspora.

Honorary Consul of Ghana to Worcester-Massachusetts, Ken Asafo-Adjei, who is also the CEO of the Ghana Heritage Foundation, expressed his excitement about the event: “We are proud to organize NEGFEST, a platform to celebrate our culture, connect with our roots, and share the vibrant traditions of Ghana with the New England community.”
