H.E. Dr. Ntiamoah-Mensah, Honored with Global Bell Peace and Conscience Award at UN General Assembly

His Excellency Rev. Dr. Charles N. Ntiamoah-Mensah CDSE, affectionately known as “Mr. CNN,” has been honored with the prestigious Global Bell Peace and Conscience Award during the 2024 United Nations General Assembly.

 

The event, which took place on Friday, September 20, 2024, celebrated the International Day of Peace, bringing together dignitaries, UN ambassadors, first ladies, and representatives of the Governor of New York. Among the UN Ambassadors honored were H.E. Rev. Dr. Lilian Sally Addo and H. E. Bishop Dr. Akwasi Amankwah.

 

 

Dr. Ntiamoah-Mensah, a respected UN Ambassador and evangelist, was recognized for his unwavering commitment to global peace, justice, and security. The ceremony, which included the presentation of the Global Peace and Love Award, underscored his dedication to promoting peace through the Gender Priority Strategy (GPS), an initiative that emphasizes the role of women as key players in fostering sustainable development.

 

 

As part of the celebration, dignitaries had the distinguished honor of ringing the World Peace and Love Bell at the UN Headquarters. The symbolic act, performed by notable world leaders each year, highlights the UN’s mission to ignite action for peace and justice across the globe. This year’s theme, “Gender Actions for Peace: Ambition for Women as Key Players in Promoting Sustainable Development,” focused on the critical role of women in leadership and their contributions to world peace.

 

 

In his acceptance speech, Dr. Ntiamoah-Mensah expressed gratitude for the recognition and reaffirmed his commitment to advancing peace initiatives. He emphasized the importance of gender equality in peace-building efforts, noting the need for continued collaboration between global leaders and grassroots organizations.

 

 

The event, organized by the Africana Women Working Group at the UN, the Miss CARICOM Foundation International Inc., and the Federation of World Peace and Love, brought together key stakeholders to explore strategies for advancing global peace through gender-focused initiatives. The presence of first ladies, UN representatives, and other dignitaries highlighted the significance of this year’s discussions on sustainable development and gender equality.

 

The Global Bell Peace and Conscience Award marks another significant milestone in Dr. Ntiamoah-Mensah’s illustrious career as a peace advocate, further solidifying his role as a global leader in promoting justice and security. His participation in the event reflects his ongoing efforts to create a more peaceful and just world for future generations.
