Davido’s Father, Billionaire Adedeji Adeleke, Donates N1 Billion to Cherubim and Seraphim Church

In a remarkable display of philanthropy, Nigerian billionaire businessman Adedeji Adeleke, father of renowned music star David Adeleke, better known as Davido, has made headlines with a significant donation of N1 billion to the Cherubim and Seraphim (C&S) Church’s Centenary Endowment Fund.

This generous contribution was made in honor of his late mother, Madam Esther Adeleke, during a special thanksgiving service held at the church’s headquarters in Lagos on Sunday.

The donation, which took many by surprise, was announced by Adeleke himself at the event. “On behalf of our late mother, Senior Mother in Israel, late Mrs. Esther Adeleke, we want to contribute to the endowment fund, Centenary Endowment Fund. We are contributing the sum of N1 billion,” he stated.

The event was graced by several prominent figures, including Governor Dapo Abiodun, who expressed his admiration for the Adeleke family’s commitment to both their faith and the welfare of others. “The Adeleke family continues to exemplify what it means to serve both the Lord and humanity with humility and consistency,” Governor Abiodun remarked.

Also in attendance were Davido, Governors Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, and Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, adding a touch of prestige to the occasion.

Deputy Baba Aladura Harold Demuren, who also spoke at the event, commended the Adeleke family for their unwavering support and generosity towards the church.

“The Adeleke family and their members are rare gems. They serve the Lord and humanity in humility and consistency,” said Demuren, an Aeronautical Engineer and former Director-General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).

The Cherubim and Seraphim Church, founded by Pa Moses Orimolade Tunolase, is set to celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2025. This generous donation by the Adeleke family is expected to significantly contribute to the church’s preparations for the centenary milestone.
