Ghanaian film icon and style advocate, Martha Ankomah, has taken legal measures against her fellow actor, Kwadwo Nkansah, widely known as Lil Win, over disparaging remarks he made.

Martha alleges that Lil Win falsely accused her of expressing contempt towards Kumawood actors, citing their perceived lack of compelling storylines as the reason for her reluctance to collaborate with them.

Lil Win didn’t stop there; he criticized Martha’s role as a GTP Ambassador, suggesting that she spoke condescendingly despite her affiliation with the brand. He questioned her status, stating, “Martha, true stars are humble. Do you even consider yourself a star? What have you accomplished?”

He went on to express surprise at GTP choosing Martha over other renowned actors for the ambassadorial role, bringing into question her statements. Lil Win remarked, “I’m still amazed that you made such statements, were you drunk?”

Martha, refuting these allegations, promptly filed a legal complaint at the High Court in Accra. The writ instructs Lil Win to appear in court within eight days to address the accusations.

In her pursuit of justice, Martha seeks 5 million Ghana cedis in damages for the false statements and demands compensatory damages for the harm inflicted on her reputation.

Martha emphasizes that such unfounded claims not only tarnish her image but also hinder the collaborative spirit vital for the entertainment sector’s growth. As the legal proceedings unfold, both parties anxiously await the court’s decision to determine the truth and address any resulting consequences.
