Lopez Brand Influence: Ghanaian TikTok Star Opens Up on Talent, Struggles, and Social Media Power

Popular Ghanaian TikTok star, Lopez, has revealed the story behind her rise to fame, her hidden creative talents, and the challenges she has faced as a young artist in Ghana.

Speaking in an interview on The Journey Show on Adom TV with host Abena Ghana, Lopez disclosed that her passion for fashion and design dates back to her childhood. According to her, she began designing shoes, bags, and dresses at the age of nine.

Despite her early start, Lopez admitted she once put her talent aside. “I felt like it wouldn’t take me anywhere because of the environment I found myself in, so I decided to focus on social media,” she explained.

However, recent events have reignited her passion. Just weeks ago, Lopez began posting her designs online, surprising many of her followers who were unaware of her artistic abilities. “People were shocked I had that talent,” she said.

She lamented the lack of support for creative crafts in Ghana. “We don’t push crafts enough. My designs are masterpieces, but sometimes I feel like I’m wasting my talent because I don’t get support when I post my work,” she noted.

Things have begun to change for the better. Lopez revealed that one of her recent posts gained over one million views within a short period, attracting attention from fabric brands that have started offering her free materials. She has also announced her openness to collaborations, signaling a new chapter in her career focused on art and fashion.

In addition to fashion, Lopez is now embracing drawing as a major part of her content. She used the opportunity to highlight the struggles artists face, especially when it comes to recognition and financial support.

“People only see the final result of artwork, but they don’t see the effort and money behind it,” she explained. She recounted her past experiences drawing celebrities, noting that such projects could cost up to GH₵3,000, yet often go unappreciated. “After presenting the artwork, some celebrities won’t even give you money for transportation back home,” she added, expressing her disappointment.

Lopez also addressed a recent controversy involving her and Old Tafo MP Vincent Assafuah. Reflecting on the situation, she admitted it was a mistake. “That was my first and last time calling someone out on social media. I acted too fast instead of analyzing everything,” she said. She advised others to handle emotional situations more privately to avoid regret.

On her personal life, Lopez shared that a previous relationship ended over unusual circumstances. “My ex complained that I ate too much whenever I visited him,” she revealed. She added that many men fail to understand their partners before entering relationships, urging them to pay attention beyond appearances.

Looking ahead, Lopez has big ambitions. She hopes to establish a major fashion showroom within the next five years and is optimistic that her growing online presence will attract the support she needs to achieve her dreams.

She credited social media as a powerful tool that has helped her rediscover her purpose, adding that she regrets not showcasing her talent earlier, especially when her late mother encouraged her to do so.

Lopez concluded with advice to young women, urging them to be mindful of the content they share online. “Social media is powerful. Don’t come there to fool—do something meaningful,” she said.

As her influence continues to grow, Lopez appears poised to make a significant mark in both the digital and fashion spaces in Ghana.
