Ignore False Reports: Manhyia Palace Distances Itself From Daddy Lumba Funeral Dispute

The Manhyia Palace has firmly disassociated itself from reports suggesting its involvement in the funeral arrangements of Ghanaian highlife legend Daddy Lumba, urging the public to dismiss such claims as misinformation.

In a statement released on Thursday, December 11, 2025, the Palace clarified that it is not engaged in any processes concerning the burial or funeral plans for the late Charles Kwadwo Fosu. The royal establishment further appealed to Ghanaians and the media to verify all information before publication or circulation.

The Palace’s response comes in the wake of widespread rumours alleging its participation in resolving disagreements over the late musician’s burial. Palace officials described the claims as unfounded and potentially harmful to public understanding of the situation.

Tensions have escalated in recent days as Daddy Lumba’s immediate family and extended relatives remain divided over the appropriate funeral date. A purported date of December 13, 2025—which circulated online—has been dismissed by the musician’s family as unauthorised.

According to the Manhyia administration, attempts to associate the Palace with the ongoing dispute risk complicating an already sensitive situation. It therefore urged the public to refrain from circulating unverified statements that could worsen tensions surrounding the celebrated musician’s final rites.
