Dreams Animation Studios Threatens Legal Action Against Socrate Safo Over “TunTum” Distribution Delay

Dreams Animation Studios, the production company behind the animated film TunTum, has issued a stern warning to Socrate Safo and his company, Safo n Safo Productions, over the delay in marketing and distributing the film.

In an official letter addressed to Mr. Safo, Michael T. Narh, CEO of Dreams Animation Studios, expressed frustration over the prolonged inaction, stating that despite a legally binding partnership agreement, Safo n Safo has failed to fulfill its responsibilities in promoting the film.

“It has now been over 14 months since the film premiered, yet your company has failed to fulfill its responsibilities in marketing and distribution, which is causing significant strain on Dreams Animation Studios,” Narh wrote. “We pre-financed the entire production, relying on the expected revenue from a successful partnership.”

Michael T. Narh emphasized that the delay was unacceptable, particularly given that Dreams Animation Studios had spent four years producing TunTum. He insisted that Safo n Safo either release the movie as agreed or bear the full cost of production.

The controversy surrounding the delayed release was recently discussed on The Best Entertainment Show hosted by Halifax Ansah Addo on Okay FM. Additionally, a post containing the official letter surfaced on Facebook but was taken down just a few minutes after it was shared, raising speculation about whether it was leaked intentionally or mistakenly.

In a separate discussion, Michael T. Narh revealed that the letter was initially sent privately to Mr. Safo, and the studio had no knowledge of how it became public. However, he reiterated their demand for immediate action, warning that failure to comply within 14 days would result in legal action.

“We expect a detailed response within 14 days outlining the intended actions to rectify this situation,” Narh stated. “If we do not receive a response, we will have no choice but to take legal steps to protect our rights.”

The dispute raises concerns about the future of TunTum, a project that has already faced significant delays. With the deadline for a response looming
