Martha Ankomah Rejects Lil Win’s Apology in GH₵5 Million Defamation Case

Award-winning Ghanaian actress Martha Ankomah has rejected an apology from Kumawood star Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as Lil Win, in connection with a GH₵5 million defamation suit she filed against him earlier this year.

The actress, through her legal team, argued that Lil Win’s apology lacked the necessary elements to qualify as a proper retraction and apology, failing to address the harm caused to her reputation.

The defamation case, filed on February 14, 2024, arose from comments made by Lil Win in a viral video that Martha Ankomah claims were defamatory.

The actress is seeking GH₵5 million in damages, as well as a formal retraction and apology issued with the same prominence as the original comments.

During a court session held on Friday, December 13, 2024, both parties, along with their lawyers, met behind closed doors for nearly three hours in an attempt to resolve the matter amicably. The High Court in Accra has adjourned the case to February 25, 2025, to allow time for both parties to finalize terms of settlement.

Sources close to the proceedings indicate that Lil Win may be required to issue a revised public apology that satisfies Martha Ankomah’s expectations. Her legal team has emphasized that any resolution must include an unequivocal retraction and an apology that effectively addresses the damage to her public image.

This high-profile legal battle continues to attract significant public attention, with many eagerly awaiting the outcome of the next court session.
