Ghanaian Para Athletes Embark on South Korea Training Camp Ahead of LA28 Paralympic Qualifications
Three Para athletes and one official are traveling to South Korea for a training camp to begin the LA28 Paralympic qualifications agenda.
The National Paralympic Committee of Ghana and the Korean Paralympic Committee initiated this program to provide athletes with the necessary exposure in preparation for the qualifying events for the LA 2028 Paralympic Games.
The team includes two Para swimmers, Promise Aheto and Bryan Akoto, a Para-badminton player, Judith Adu, and a media/impact official, Mr. Michael Obeng. The program is sponsored by the National Paralympic Committee of Korea.
The training camp is designed to foster the development of the athletes and build their capabilities in a range of programs, notably a sports academy with activities in para-badminton, swimming, and taekwondo. The camp will also allow the team to experience Korean culture and network.
The Korea Paralympic Committee is responsible for the total cost of the trip and related activities. In 2022, two athletes and one official from NPC-Ghana benefited from similar arrangements ahead of the Paris 2024 Paralympics.
The team will return to Ghana on November 15, 2024.
