Okyeame Kwame, popularly known as OK, has launched an online campaign to persuade legendary Burger Highlife artist Daddy Lumba to feature on Hiplife star King Paluta’s latest track, For the Popping. Okyeame Kwame took to Facebook to rally fans behind this effort.
“To all King Paluta fans who want to see a collaboration with Daddy Lumba, just comment ‘DL’ under this post. I’ll personally show it to him. Let’s make it happen!” the renowned rapper and songwriter posted, stirring excitement among followers.
In a playful video accompanying his post, Okyeame Kwame is seen dancing in a swimming pool to For the Popping. He directly appeals to Daddy Lumba, saying, “You need to remix this song—it’s right up your alley!”
King Paluta’s For the Popping combines a fresh modern sound with the classic feel of Burger Highlife, creating a lively party track. Known for his major hit Makoma, Paluta first explored the Burger Highlife genre in that release and has since continued to channel Daddy Lumba’s style, from the iconic Aben Wo Ha shoulder dance to the signature performance style with female dancers that Lumba popularized.
A collaboration with Daddy Lumba would mark a significant milestone for King Paluta, solidifying his place as one of Ghana’s most celebrated artists and opening doors to wider industry acclaim and success.
