Kwabena Kwabena Opens Up on Post-Divorce Struggles: ‘I Wasn’t Far from What Happened to Funny Face

Ghanaian musician Kwabena Kwabena, known for his soulful lyrics and stirring performances, recently shared a deeply personal experience in an interview with Ghana News TV.

Reflecting on the emotional toll following the end of his marriage, Kwabena Kwabena revealed the struggles he endured, comparing his own challenges to those faced by his colleague, comedian Funny Face.

“It was very difficult when I ended my marriage. I can say I was not far from what happened to my brother Funny Face,” he disclosed. “Every time I see him, I cry because it could have been me. So, let us keep our brother in our prayers.”

Despite the dark period, Kwabena Kwabena expressed immense gratitude for his resilience and survival. “I’m thankful to God that I’m still alive and sound. I didn’t know how I got out of that situation,” he said, reflecting on the strength that helped him overcome his ordeal.

The musician further opened up about the inspiration behind his song “Fakye Me,” which he co-wrote with gospel artist Obaapa Christy. The heartfelt track was born out of his personal struggles and his quest for forgiveness and healing. “I wrote that song when I was going through a lot,” he said. “I asked God to forgive me if I had done something wrong because I am only human. I can make mistakes, but should my mistakes lead me to such a situation?”
