The Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA), in collaboration with the Mastercard Foundation, proudly unveiled the Ghana Mall yesterday, marking a major milestone in Ghana’s journey toward economic empowerment.
This innovative marketplace, now open to the public, offers a platform for over 800 Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to showcase their products and services, strengthening the presence of Made-in-Ghana goods and supporting local entrepreneurship.
The Ghana Mall is the centerpiece of the BizBox Project, an initiative aimed at supporting 250,000 young entrepreneurs across Ghana by enhancing their business development.
With this mall, small businesses gain access to a broader audience, encouraging revenue growth and valuable B2B networking opportunities.
The Ghana Mall’s objectives highlight its role in supporting local business development:
- Increased Exposure: Extending the reach of BizBox participants’ products and services.
- Revenue Growth: Opening new sales opportunities for participating MSMEs.
- Networking and Partnerships: Fostering a dynamic B2B network among producers and suppliers.
- Promotion of Ghanaian Goods: Emphasizing locally made products and services.
- Job Creation: Contributing to employment opportunities for Ghanaian youth.
CEO of GEA, Mrs. Kosi Yankey-Ayeh, expressed the agency’s dedication to supporting SME growth in Ghana. “Our vision was to create a space where Ghanaian SMEs can excel, gaining both revenue and the support needed for sustainable growth. Beyond financial assistance, we’re focused on market access through strategic partnerships, including those with the private sector. The Ghana Mall is only the beginning,” she shared.
Key government officials, including Deputy Minister of Trade Hon. Kofi Ahenkora Marfo and Municipal Chief Executive of LaDMA Hon. Solomon Kotei Nikoi, were in attendance, affirming the government’s commitment to initiatives that strengthen local businesses.
Symbolizing economic empowerment and sustainability, the Ghana Mall is managed with a focus on operational efficiency, high-quality customer service, and an excellent shopping environment that ensures a robust foundation for long-term success.
Now open to MSMEs, the Ghana Mall offers an exciting platform for local businesses to thrive. By supporting the diverse offerings within the mall, Ghanaians can actively contribute to building a prosperous, locally-driven economy that celebrates Ghanaian talent and products.
