Reflecting on his experiences working with both artists, Kuami Eugene praised Empress Gifty for her dedication to promoting the song Watch Me, which he produced, while noting that Joyce Blessing’s promotional energy seemed to wane after the initial success of her song Victory.
“I think Joyce Blessing didn’t do as much as Empress Gifty is doing. I’m just being real. I love Auntie Joyce so much, but I don’t think she did justice to the song like Empress is doing. At the beginning, when she put it out there and it went viral, it did really well. But after December, that was it. She has a hit song, so, yeah, that’s it,” Kuami Eugene said.
The Angela hitmaker highlighted Empress Gifty’s consistent and personalized approach to promoting her music.
“Empress has taken a personal approach, and from a writer’s perspective, there’s a lot of respect attached to it. She’s singing everywhere and posting consistently. It’s been almost a month, and it doesn’t look like she’s stopping anytime soon. I think it’s something we should all learn from because she understands how to promote music and get it out there.”
Kuami Eugene acknowledged that Joyce Blessing’s Victory did well upon its release, going viral and creating a buzz. However, he noted that her promotional push appeared to lose momentum shortly after, in contrast to Empress Gifty’s sustained efforts to keep her music in the spotlight.
Kuami Eugene’s comments reflect his appreciation for the hard work and strategy involved in promoting music, underscoring the importance of consistency in achieving long-term success in the industry.
