Your Breast Is As Important As Your Heart -Miss Pink winner, Perpetual konadu

Winner of breast cancer awareness pageant, Miss Pink 2016- Perpetual Konadu Webana has advised women to treat their breast as they would treat their own heart or eye.

She said all women must be extra careful with their breast because the breast is one of the most important features of every woman, without which a woman may lose her confidence and even her life.

Miss Webana made these observations as part of her message to all mothers during this year’s Mother’s Day celebration which falls on the second Sunday of the month of May. This year’s mother’s day is being celebrated on 14th May 2017. She said women endure a lot of pain during pregnancy, labour and caring for their families.

“It is therefore important that mothers enjoy the rest of their lives in good health, happiness and joy”, Miss Wobena noted adding that “We must take extra care as mothers by safeguarding our breast just as we protect our hearts and eyes from danger”.

Miss Perpetual Konadu Webana, a final year student of Jayee University College was crowned Miss Pink 2016 in September last year as a breast cancer awareness ambassador. The Miss Pink Pageant concept is designed to create awareness for breast cancer prevention amongst women.

She encouraged women who been diagnosed with breast cancer to have faith and continue their medication and treatment since the disease is not a death sentence as portrayed by some people in the country.

Organized by RAM Media Concepts, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, Miss Pink offers young women the platform to project health issues affecting women, especially breast cancer through awareness creation, screening and the promotion of healthy living with the aim of avoiding the wrath of early death amongst women due to breast cancer or severance of the breast. She said most victims of breast cancer die too early due to stigmatization and lack of awareness for the treatment or management of the disease.

CEO/Managing Director of RAM Media Concepts, Mr. Augustine Mark also urged women to seek early treatment to avoid losing their breast to cancerous cells in their breast. Mr. Mark whilst urging mother’s to avoid unhealthy lifestyles admonished women to practice regular self examination of their breast as a daily routine and report any abnormal development in their breast to the nearest medical centre He however wished all women a very heartily and happy Mother’s day.
