Worldly Songs Like Hiplife & Highlife Are Not Good For Christians -Rev F. D -Yalley

Leader and Founder of Bridge Ministries International,  Rev F. D-Yalley, has hinted that worldly or secular music including Hiplife and Highlife  are not good for Christians.

The head pastor with a global vision which is to restore a generation of purpose, promise and power through the word, preaching to his congregation said that twice in the Bible Jesus had to prevent some people in the very room in which he had to raise the dead – popular one being Lazarus.

According to him, the reason is that they were wailing and their cry was an inhibition to the atmosphere of the supernatural. “David had played his harp to draw away while spirits from Saul the king, out of the abundance of the heart we speak.

“Elisha had to call for music before ministering the prophetic because the atmosphere was not conducive since Ahab made him angry” Rev Yalley explained from biblically perspective.

To him, a good tree produces good fruits so does a bad tree produces evil fruits. “The fruit of our lips is worship to God. Music is a lifestyle and not any event. If I dedicate my album to Christ, I expect him to use it to win others.

“Also, if I dedicate my music to Satan or the lyrics is satanic, who gets the glory? Music is a lifestyle. It includes the person, the lyrics, who is singing and the kind of atmosphere being created” he said.

Rev Yalley believes in empowering believers spiritually, developing them educationally, exposing them culturally, activating them politically and strengthening them economically.

In a seperate chat with editor of Ghanacreativearts.com , Nii Attractive  Mustapha , he added that ,  2: 2 Kings 3:14-15 NKJV

And Elisha said, “As the LORD of hosts lives, before whom I stand, surely were it not that I regard the presence of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, I would not look at you, nor see you. [15] But now bring me a musician.” Then it happened, when the musician played, that the hand of the LORD came upon him.

2: 1 Samuel 16:16-18 NKJV

Let our master now command your servants, who are before you, to seek out a man who is a skillful player on the harp. And it shall be that he will play it with his hand when the distressing spirit from God is upon you, and you shall be well.” [17] So Saul said to his servants, “Provide me now a man who can play well, and bring him to me.” [18] Then one of the servants answered and said, “Look, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, who is skillful in playing, a mighty man of valor, a man of war, prudent in speech, and a handsome person; and the LORD is with him.”
