We are ready to collaborate with Zylofon Media – Tourism Minister

The Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Catherine Afeku, has revealed the Ministry’s intentions to collaborate with Zylofon Media on their Zylofon Arts fund.

The all-around firm has started a 1-million-dollar arts fund which is aimed at supporting people in the creative arts industry who have promising projects but lack the capital to embark on them.

The Minister, who seems to buy into this initiative, told Andy Dosty in an interview on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM that her Ministry is interested in joining forces with Zylofon Media to push the creative arts industry to attain higher heights.

“…Of course, we are ready to collaborate with them. I actually sent Socrates Sarfo who is one of us to represent and pledge our support at the event. We spoke behind the scenes but I am very much interested. The creative Arts Secretariat, Bibi Bright is [there as] the link between us and Zylofon…,” she said.

Responding to the claims that her Ministry has totally neglected the creative arts sector; Mrs Afeku announced a planned news briefing to address all the issues the creative arts industry is facing.

She said that the Ministry of Information will organize a ‘Meet the Press’ session on January 28, 2018, to address all the concerns.

This she hoped, will make up for persons in the creative arts sector who could not get the opportunity to ask questions during the presidential encounter last week.
