Stop pressuring Akufo-Addo to open our borders – Samini

Ghanaian Dancehall icon Samini has cautioned Ghanaians in the diaspora to stop mounting pressure on president Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo to open the the country’s borders.

The musician who was speaking in an interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM captured by Ghanaian Journalist and Blogger Attractivemustapha.com said he thinks the president has done very well in handling the COVID-19 pandemic.

He rated Akufo-Addo’s measures as one of the best as far as the COVID-19 pandemic is concerned.

“I think, so far, across Africa, we are doing if not the best, we are one of the best in managing the COVID-19 pandemic”.

Samini who is currently stuck in Canada with his family mentioned that he is aware some of his colleague musicians are mounting pressure on the government to lift the ban placed on the country’s borders against human traffic but he suggests everyone should go easy on the president.

As the president is expected to address the nation tonight, many Ghanaians including celebrities are of higher hopes that the borders will be opened to enable international travels
