Veteran highlife musician, Rex Owusu Marfo, known in music circles as Rex Omar has threatened to sue entertainment company, Zylofon Media for copyright infringement.

Speaking on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, Thursday, the “Abiba” hitmaker disclosed that the media organization played his music on-air without his permission.

Rex told Andy Dosty that he gave one of his unreleased songs to a Zylofon ambassador for critic only to hear the song being played on Zylofon Radio.

“I wanted to revive highlife. I kept going to the studio for two years. I give it to you purposely to listen and by the time I realised, you play it on radio. That is not right and that is not how I want it to come out. People must understand that most creative people have some emotion attached to their work”, Rex lamented.

According to him, he places a million dollar value on every song he writes hence if Zylofon wants to settle the matter amicably, he the CEO of Zylofon Media, Nana Appiah Mensah has to sort him out.

He likened the looming legal battle between him and Zylofon to that of a poor man knocked down by a rich man’s car.

“They must do the right thing. They have to pay me money. We need to negotiate. I am dealing with the label. Every song I write out has a million dollar value and you know that Zylofon is “dosted” [Rich]. Now Zylofon has used my music, bingo, it is business!…” he told Andy.

“If you’re praying you don’t wish a poor man to knock you down with his car. I don’t have a problem with Obibini.”

“If I give you a beer to drink as my visitor, it doesn’t mean you can go into my fridge anytime”, he explained with an adage.
