Ghanaian astute entertainment event company PrintMojo is set to organize the maiden edition of Accra Music Awards on 31st August, 2018 at the Zylofon Studios at East-Legon, Accra.

The event company in the past partnered e1t1 and Quantum Communication to organize 2017 /2018 Nima Excellence Awards and also supported the major Sallah fest, PrintMojo also collaborated with J Black Code Event Ghana to organize the Kintampo / Brong Ahafo Music Awards.

Talking about the Accra Music Awards, they said that it is a scheme that seeks to promote musical talents in the Greater Accra Region.

“It intends to recognize and celebrate the hard working artistes under the year of review”, the organizers said.

Ghana’s capital is undoubtedly a hub of great talents both popular and underground artistes who are doing bits in attempts to rise to fame. However, due to several challenges it is difficult for the musical fans to identify and celebrate them as well.

In an interview with Haruna Rashid Yussif who is a member of the Accra Music Awards Board, he told Attractivemustapha.com that . artists, groups, producers, sound engineers, video directors and all the industry players are expected to nominate themselves or can be nominated by others for categories they qualify for after the launch.

“Artistes must have worked under the year of review. Song, album or music video that has been released in the year prior to the entry. A hard copy of the nominee’s profile, photographs and sample music is required with the entry form.

After the submission of nominations, all entries will be screened for eligibility. An “Award academy” made up of recognized members of the Accra Music Awards scheme will then reduce each category to four or five finalists based on artistic flair and technical achievement. Sales and chart positions are also taken into account during shortlisting.
