People in the creative arts like begging for money too much – Enoch Agyapong

Ghanaian Entertainment Critic and Artiste Manager, Enoch Agyapong, has lamented on how people within the creative arts industry like doing “lalasulilai” and begging for money when in an actual sense they can find ways and means to make money.

Speaking as a panelist on Onua FM to a suggestion made by Mr Frank Agyekum that the Government should pay Musicians monthly in this time of the coronavirus pandemic, Enoch Agyapong said the creative industry will not grow if its stakeholders continue begging for money from Govt and individuals.

’My orientation is different, how will we grow if we continue like this”, he said on Onua 95.1 with Christian Agyei Frimpong monitored by attractivemustapha.com.

He added that instead of the industry finding ways and means to make money they rather resort to begging for money all the time.

He was quick to add that if govt supports the industry he sees no problem with it, but the idea of always begging for money is his problem.

He queried that if govt even decided to give money to people in the arts it will create a lot of problems because of the channel in which the money will be distributed.

“Everyone is affected it’s not just musicians who have been affected by the Convid-19 so what makes the musicians special to be given money, let’s think broad, we must set our system before we even ask govt for money”.
