NPP primaries: Obour wins Asante Akyem South Constituency

Former Musicians Union of Ghana president Bice Osei Kuffour has won his bid to become the New Patriotic Party parliamentary candidate for the Asante Akyem South Constituency in the Ashanti Region.

Obour is contesting with three other people including the incumbent Member of Parliament Hon. Kwaku Asante Boateng who has served two terms the on the ticket of the NPP.

Provisional results according to Gyesi Boako as sighted on his Facebook page by attractivemustapha.com shows that Obour has defeated the others.

A source in the Constituency says they believe the former MUSIGA boss will improve the Asante Akyem Constituency in terms of development and enhance the progress of its people better than the other aspirants.

He is reported to have already completed some projects including roads networks.

Obour’s father’s death was a major blow to his campaign especially because it was alleged that he died of Covid-19 and the subsequent brouhaha surrounding the burial but he seems to have bounced back strongly.
