Jamaica’s reggae band, Third World and New Orleans Legend Cyril Neville live in Ghana

The first edition of the Ghana World Music Festival comes off today, June 22nd at the +233 Jazz Bar & Grill. It would be a night for reggae music lovers to witness great performances of some of the big names when it comes to reggae music.

The music event which starts tonight at 7 pm will see reggae music group ‘Third World’ from Jamaica, and Cyril Neville performing on the night.

Third World is one of the longest-lived Reggae bands of all time and one of Jamaica’s most consistently popular crossover acts among international audiences. They have been doing this for 45 years and it’s going to be exhilarating watching them perform with all of those years of experience right here in Ghana.

Third World has had 10 Grammy nominations and their major hit songs like “Now That We Found Love” “96 Degrees In The Shade” “Try Jah Love” and they would be performing all of these songs on the night.

Certainly for anyone who loves Reggae Music and has followed it, wouldn’t miss this chance to watch Third World as they perform their songs that has elements of R&B, funk, pop, rock, dancehall and even rap—and that explains why their style has been described as “Reggae Fusion”.

Also on the night, patrons will also get to witness performances from American percussionist Cyril Neville from New Orleans. You will definitely see him perform some of his songs like Swamp Funk, I Found Joy, This Is My Country, Gossip and more.

There will be other surprise artistes passing through to perform on the night.

The Ghana World Music Festival is organised by the International Arts Solutions and supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Art & Culture.

Ticket for the event is selling at a cool Ghc200 and happening tonight (Friday, 22nd June 2018) at the +233 Jazz Bar & Grill.
