Black Stars Captain, Asamoah Gyan has said he has over the years developed a thick skin for negativity and that they do not affect him in any way.

According to him, even when his mother died, he played and scored two goals; an indication that he is mentally tough and cannot be brought down by peoples perception of him.

He said “People think I will be distracted when they accuse me but am more focused. You cannot distract me and you cannot destroy the job God has given me to do. I have always proven to be tough mentally. The day I lost my mom, I played and scored two goals so is not about you are saying”.

He debunked claims that he is not committed to the National Team and indicated that he has been the most consistent player Ghana has ever had in its history.
