INTANGIBILITY AND DYNAMISM OF LIFE

KEY VERSES:This is what the Lord says: “Let not the wise boast of their wisdom or the strong boast of their strength or the rich boast of their riches, but let the one who boasts boast about this: that they have the understanding to know me, that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight,” declares the Lord.
Jeremiah 9:23‭-‬24 NIV

I have made this great friend who happens to be a scholar by all standards and most importantly a lover of Christ.I had the opportunity to speak to this great woman about life and she pointed out to me a few deep but often ignored truths.I was deeply moved after I heard her speak on phone that day.
Life indeed is intangible-That means no one can hold on to it.Not even the wealthiest or the most powerful of all mortals can hold on to it with whatever military might or financial influence they possess. She quoted the words of the archbishop of Canterbury on the day of burial of the great Prince Philip some months ago.”Now we shall hear hear the titles of the Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh before he becomes an ordinary soul in front of God”-His maker. And guess what? The Prince had 76 titles excluding his honors, but before God according to the archbishop ,those titles were indeed worthless.Naked we came and of the truth naked shall we return.Let us learn to make Godliness and humility our hallmark above the positions and exaltations of men.If any man should ever boast,it should be because he knows God because that is the only testimonial that would matter before Him.When all is said and done, the only thing that matters becomes our relationship with God at the time of exit.-Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives
2 Peter 3:11 NIV
In Africa I have seen very powerful leaders exit in only a wooden coffin. Beloved, nothing lasts, absolutely nothing! At the time of death, many have desired just an extra day to correct their wrongs and lived right but their bank balances are unable to change their date of exit. Life is indeed intangible.
My friend also reminded me of the fact that life is dynamic. This means nothing is permanent and no one can change that fact. Insignificant people can become significant under the twinkle of an eye.The people that we look down on today can easily be the people we are look up to tomorrow.Life has many changing scenes beloved. The covid pandemic over the last couple of months has changed many lives. Many lost their jobs and fortunes.Life is too dynamic for one to boast of who they are today because who one is today can change anytime without prior notice. The only fact that survives is the Grace of God that carries us at all times.
The Intangibility and dynamism of life leaves us with nothing but the essence of hope and change. On this must we build our faith.
We are reminded constantly to learn how to number our days-

Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.
Psalms 90:12 NIV

Beloved, let us learn to put God first in all we do and give Him the credit when we are lifted up for sustainability and long life are only in His hands.

Prayer:Teach me constantly how to number my days of God.

I love you all and may God bless you.
