Ignore stubborn acts; they’ll bring you trouble – Richie to artiste managers

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Lynx Entertainment, Richie Mensah has advised artistes managers to stay away from unruly artistes.

He made this statement when he appeared as the guest speaker at the launch and seminar of the 2nd Edition of the Eastern Music Awards in Koforidua yesterday.

He was doing a presentation on artiste-manager-relationship as a key factor to a successful music business.

Answering a question on how artistes managers can best cope and manage undisciplined, stubborn and incorrigible artistes, he said “every artiste manager should stay away from any artiste that is stubborn and undisciplined; one that doesn’t appreciate your job as manager. He will be a trouble in the future.”

He added that artiste managers are like fathers to their artistes. They most often put the best interest of their artiste first and ensure the welfare of their artistes before themselves, yet artiste management is not appreciated.

“Artiste Management is the most unappreciative job in the world. Though they are many managers who run the affairs of an artiste, the artiste manager stands tall among them because he makes an artist to become the people’s choice,” he said.

Richie Mensah, who manages MzVee, Kwami Eugene and Kidi under Lynx Entertainment, concluded that up and coming artistes are required also to choose the best manager they can find and to trust their managers at all times and have their best interest at heart.

Richie in the past has worked with musicians like Asem, OJ Black, Zigi, Eazzy among others.
