I don’t have money for govt’s hotel quarantine – Wutah Kobby

Ghanaian musician Wutah Kobby has lamented that he does not have the money for Gov’t 14 days quarantine.

This is with regard to the government’s decision to quarantine Ghanaians abroad who want to return into the country on special arrangements.

A letter in circulation on Social Media suggests that the government has negotiated prices with the plush Kempinski Hotel and African Regent Hotel to quarantine such people on their arrival for fourteen days.

But speaking in an interview with Andy Dosty, Monitored by Ghanaian Journalist and Blogger Attractive Mustapha Nii Okai Inusah , Wutah Kobby said that he is not prepared and never anticipated that he will be locked up in a way that his own country’s government will ask him to pay huge amounts of money before he returns to his homeland.

He continued that he has really suffered in the United Kingdom throughout this pandemic.

He said that even in the UK, he has stayed above his means.

“It is not conducive for everybody to pay that amount of money that government is asking us to pay”.

” The show that I came to play in the United Kingdom was canceled so I didn’t perform. I was supposed to be paid after the gig and all the gigs were canceled “, Wutah Kobby fumed.

According to him, the only thing he is doing now is to adhere to all the safety precautions in order to be safe, stay alive and come back to Ghana peacefully.

He suggested to Govt to open the Airports for Ghanaians stuck abroad to be able to return.
