HEAVEN’S REGISTER

KEY VERSES:The seventy-two returned with joy and said, “Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name.” I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”
Luke 10:17‭, ‬19‭-‬20 NIV

It is our fatal tendency to rejoice in the wrong things in connection with our spiritual life and experience.” We are so quickly impressed with spiritual success and dangeroulsy blinded by our pride. How fast we forget the true joy that our names are recorded in the book of life! Heaven is guaranteed!
Indeed God will bless us in this life time.Indeed our spiritual authority is guaranteed as believers but we are supposed to do everything possible to keep our names in the heavens register.
The consequence of missing heavens register is so damning that the bible querries”What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?
Mark 8:36‭-‬37 NIV

Basically Jesus is reminding the 70 that returned excited the constantly keep their eyes on the ball because the excitement of success even in ministry can easily be mistaken as an acceptance to heaven.
Many may acquire the grace to be successful In  this world but never sustain the momentum to make it to heaven. Our ultimate for coming to Christ it to be told” thou good and faithful servant, come into my rest “.While Jesus was thrilled about the disciples’ successes, he also knew their vulnerabilities and wanted to keep them focused on the ultimate blessing — eternity with God in heaven. Let’s “keep our eyes on the prize” while we rejoice that Jesus does his great work through us!

If you’re finding your joy and confidence in the things you do, you’re looking in the wrong place, because nothing we do can accomplish the one thing we need above all – getting our names written in the book of life in heaven. This is where we are to find our true joy and confidence – that Jesus’ life mission, our salvation.
Beloved,Where do we find our joy? What is it that gives us comfort and confidence to stand before God both today and on Judgment Day? Will we tell God about all of our dedicated service in his name and for his church? Will we present a receipt of our offerings to gain access? As pastors can we present our sermons, bible studies, baptisms and marriages as an atoning sacrifice for our sins? Will God welcome us into his heavenly home if we show him how kind, patient, and faithful we have been as children, students, parents, brothers and sisters, employers and employees? If that’s where we are finding our joy, if that’s what we are trusting to gain our entrance into God’s kingdom – Jesus warns that we will be in for a shock: ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’

We should strive at all cost to keep our names in Heaven’s register.

Prayer:Help me stay my mind constantly on heaven and not on my present successes.

I love you all and may God bless you.
