Ghana International Film Week postponed to June

The maiden edition of Ghana International Film Week which was scheduled for 5th to 12th May has been postponed pending a resolution for a new date by the organizers and their partners.

Organizers of the event, MKON, in an interview with attractivemustapha.com, revealed that there has been a reshuffle and some administrational changes at the Indian High Commission who are partners which has affected correspondence and necessitated the change of date from the initially slated 5th to 12th May,2018.

MKON added that the Indian Embassy has
asked them to suggest new dates devoid of any haste to enable a smooth rearrangement of the programme and maximize the positive effects to help aid in rebuilding the Ghanaian Film industry.

“The new dates will be communicated to Indian High Commission for confirmation and we are good to go. We are considering to reschedule it to the ending of May or early June this year”, MKON Media added.

The Ghana international film week is aimed at bringing together stakeholders and the government institutions responsible for the industry to find solutions towards rebuilding the Ghanaian film industry.

The theme for the maiden edition is ” Rebuilding Our Industry “.
