Founder of Ghana’s first political party, Paa Grant’s tomb now a drinking spot-Socrates Sarfo

The tomb of the founder of Ghana’s first political party, Mr. George Alfred Grant, popularly known as Paa Grant is now serving as a drinking spot in Axim, in the Central Region.

Many Ghanaians on social media have expressed shock at the location and state of the tomb considering the former statesman’s enormous contribution to the politics of the country.

The photos of the tomb, which was uploaded by Mr. Socrate Safo, the Director of Creative Arts at the National Commission on Culture, have got many raising issues about the country’s readiness to honour its heroes.
Paa Grant was a merchant and politician in the Gold Coast. His massive contribution in the political space of the country earned him the name “the father of Gold Coast politics”.
