Daddy Lumba takes his ‘fake son’ to court

Kwame Anokye has branded himself as Daddy Lumba Jnr. for the past years; he’s granted interviews with that tag, graced events and even performed with the whole Ghana watching including Daddy Lumba, the legendary Ghanaian highlife artist – www.entertainmentgh.com watched too, but it seems the legend has had enough.

The celebrated artiste, Charles Kwadwo Fosu, the real Daddy Lumba, has filed a lawsuit at the Accra High Court alleging that, Kwame Anokye pretends to be the son and even impersonates him to get lavish gifts and benefits.

Additionally, per the specifics of the suit obtained by www.entertainmentgh.com the complainant alleges that Anokye has a history of impersonating him since his appearance on a TV Africa-produced reality show, “Just Like You”, where talented Ghanaian youth were invited to present particular musicians and artists and to demonstrate to viewers the same mode and manner such musicians behave and act when on stage.

Interestingly, the impersonation didn’t end there as Kwame Anokye has been seen at concerts performing as the artiste with his looks and mannerism.

The plaintiff says, since the name Daddy Lumba is exclusively associated to him within the music industry and that no one goes by that name, the defendant’s imitation and misrepresentation has affected his reputation, business and goodwill and the brand as a whole.

With close to 30 albums under his belt, Daddy Lumba’s albums have yielded more number one and top ten hits than any other Ghanaian musician in the last generation.

Coining so many phrases with his lyrics, Lumba has been responsible for some of the lingo used in everyday language.

His provocative lyrics and music videos is what sets his music aside the others not forgetting his well elaborate braids and calm mannerism that adds up to his identity.
