COVID-19; The entertainment industry is allowed to organize events – Govt

Government has given the entertainment industry the green light to go ahead and organize entertainment events and award ceremonies under specific guidelines.

In a press briefing by the Ministry of Information on the Easing of restrictions for the Tourism sector monitored By Journalist and Blogger Attractive Mustapha Nii Okai Inusah, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Arts Hon. Barbara Oteng Gyasi emphasized that president Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo has indicated that the industry can undertake conferences, workshops and other social events.

She further mentioned that award ceremonies are inclusive.

Providing the guidelines, Hon. Barbara Oteng Gyasi however added that organizers of such events must ensure a ‘no mask, no entry’ policy at the venue and insist on strict adherence by the expected audience.

Another rule the Minister stated is the provision of enough Veronica buckets by event organizers must Provide enough veronica buckets and subject patrons to compulsorily wash their hands before entering.

“The organizers of events must also use hand sanitizers frequently and everyone at the venue must observe strict social distancing of not less than 1 meter’ distance”, she added

Hon Barbara Oteng Gyasi said that the patrons that can attend the event should not be more than 50% of the capacity of the venue.
