The body of the 11-year-old boy who was allegedly murdered by two teenagers at a suburb of Kasoa has been released to the family for burial.

According to Islamic custom, a person is buried 24-hours after he or she dies, but this was not the case for Ishmael Mensah Abdallah as the Police were still carrying out investigations.

The delay, according to the family, was also due to post-mortem.

Some mourners took advantage to catch a glimpse of the uncompleted building where the incident occurred. It was a very sad moment as family and friends could not hold back their tears as the hearse carrying the body arrived at the family house.

Scores of mourners made up of Muslims and non-Muslims from Kasoa and its environs, where the incident happened were also present to mourn with the bereaved family. Some wailed uncontrollably as they kept mentioning the name of the deceased.

The family of the deceased says they are happy for the opportunity to carry out the funeral rites of their son, although it delayed due to post-mortem issues.

Ismael was allegedly lured by his peers, into an uncompleted building, where his head was smashed with a club and cement blocks killing him instantly. He was subsequently buried in the building by the suspects.

The two suspects—Felix Nyarko and Nicholas Kini—who were arrested in connection with the murder of Ishmael Mensah are to reappear in court on April 20, 2021.

Meanwhile, the Police have arrested the fetish priestess and one other person alleged to be at the centre of the gruesome killing.

The two, Charity Mensah, a traditional priestess and a nursing mother, and Desmond Nii Adjei were arrested at Amanase near Suhum in the Eastern Region
