Blakk Rasta still making headlines in USA; gets professors and scholars to perform in a band

In Ghana, he’s usually referred to as a radio presenter cum reggae musician but that is not all there is to his persona – and the folks in USA get the actual picture and boy, they are exploring all of his attributes.

Since being in the States in the last couple of months, Blakk Rasta, who is also an activist and a lecturer, has had little rest. He’s either in the lecture halls making one of his gripping lectures or on stage, belting out chart-topping songs to very appreciative audience.

But wait, there’s always more!

From February 23 -24, Blakk Rasta is expected to wow the University of North Carolina with a series of lectures, which would be climaxed with a musical concert – under the aegis of the University of North Carolina and the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies & Africana Studies Program, the Black Students Association, Residential Education and Students Affairs.

On February 23, the Barack Obama hitmaker will commandeer a poignant lecture on the subject, ‘Navigating Civil Discourse’ and on the same day, he is expected to deliver on another intriguing topic – ‘Religion vs. Pan-Africanism in Africa Today’.

Then, on February 24, he will headline the Reggae Sound Splash, a musical concert to close what the University expects to be an eventful and memorable period.

Check this out;

The most enthralling bit about the musical concert is the fact that, Blakk Rasta will have some highly-revered scholars in his supporting band for the Reggae Sound Splash.

Dr. Zunguze and Dr. Boakye-Boaten, all from the University of North Carolina, will be on guitar and on drums respectively.

Few weeks ago at the University of Central Missouri , the artist/lecturer/radio presenter and activist, launched his new album, Kuchoko Revolution, which was released under the international record label, VP Records.

The launch was attended by a good number of people including Faculty Deans, Heads of Department and students of the University.
