Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election: Creative Arts group supports Kufuor

Creative Arts 4 Change, a group of artistes in the Creative Art industry, has thrown its wait behind Edward Agyekum Kufuor, to succeed the late Emmanuel Kyeremateng Agyarko, whose demise has called for a Parliamentary by-election in the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency.

Edward Agyekum Kufuor is the fourth child and second son of the second President in the Fourth Republic, John Agyekum Kufuor.

He has filed nomination forms to contest the Ayawaso West Wougon constituency by-election on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

However, he must first cross the hurdle of a parliamentary primaries to become the candidate of the NPP before he can go ahead to contest for the parliamentary seat.

To the Creative Arts 4 Change group, they see Kufuor as one of their own having been an actor cum a successful businessman, and therefore do everything within their might to ensure that the son of the former Ghanaian leader becomes the candidate of the NPP and eventually as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ayawaso West Wuogon.

“We would be active and visible in Ayawaso West constituency to project and promote the candidature of Edward Agyekum Kufuor throughout the campaign season and we look forward to a rather vigorous, healthy and exciting one where creative strategies would be optimized with act”, a statement signed and released in Accra, Wednesday, by the Co-Convenor, Creative Arts 4 Change, Socrates Safo, in part read.

He added “We have worked closely with Edward Agyekum as a member of the arts fraternity and we have no doubt in our minds he is the best for the NPP in maintaining the Ayawaso West seat. We are convinced he has more than what is required of an ideal representative of the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency in Parliament. We stand firmly with Edward Agyekum Kufuor as an actor and one from our own fraternity. Our interest is not only to have a voice of the arts in Parliament but also get a Parliamentarian that has worth, credibility and a genuine inborn passion to serve and contribute to the growth and development of the country”.

Edward Agyekum Kufuor, 50, is the fourth child and second son of former President John Agyekum Kufuor. He has impressive academic credentials, a chain of thriving business ventures and has played key roles in a tall list of movies.
